Description

We wanted a classic and what better than the golden age of travel from yesteryear.

The aircraft (MSN 21684) rolled out and started its life with Singapore Airlines 9V-SQI way back in 1979.  It flew for several years with the national carrier before moving to Olympic Airways in 1985.

The airline named five of their 747-200’s jumbo jets Olympic Zeus, Eagle, Spirit, Peace and our latest edition – Olympic Flame. With it being the Olympics and Paralympics in Japan this year, it seemed fitting to bring this wonderful jet to our collection.  It is said that, six ring tail logo stood for the five continents and one for Greece.

Records show that Olympic Flame came to its resting place in Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire during 2002. This famous plane couldn’t go quietly and starred in a supermarket advert campaign for ASDA. Painted in the ASDA brand colours, it wore an imitation registration G-ASDA for a short period. After this, it sat for many years in all weather types a number of years until a cold December night in 2020. Our authentic patina pieces bear the scars of Britain’s weather where the wind, rain and snow have taken its toll.

Just like the flame at the Olympics, our Edition #6 Olympic Flame will live on in our key chains and other great products coming soon.

There are multiple products we’re creating from as much material as possible. Stay tuned for updates.
